Meet the 2019 Washington Freshman Class

Washington is welcoming three excellent freshmen this season: Talia Brovedani of Head Over Heals, Madeline McLellan and Meaghan Ruttan, both of Calgary Gymnastics Centre.

 

Name: Talia Brovedani

Club: Head Over Heels NC

Best event(s): Bars, beam and floor

Talia Brovedani qualified to the Junior Olympics in 2014, and finished ninth on beam and fifteenth in the all around in the Junior B division. In 2018, she had an excellent NorCal State Championships, where she tied for second place on bars, and was third on beam, floor and in the all around. She qualified to the Region 1 Championships, where she won silver on beam, bronze on floor and was eighth in the all around.

Name: Madeline McLellan

Club: Calgary Gymnastics Centre (Canada)

Best event(s): Vault and floor

Madeline McLellan is a Canadian gymnast. She won multiple Canadian national titles on vault and bars, and took sixth on floor at the 2017 Canadian national championships. She won the Alberta provincial championships on vault, bars, beam and in the all around.

Name: Meaghan Ruttan

Club: Calgary Gymnastics Centre (Canada)

Best event(s): Beam and floor

Meaghan Ruttan is another Canadian elite gymnast. She was third in the all around and on floor at the 2015 junior Elite Canada. Internationally, she competed at the Jesolo Trophy in 2015, where she was ninth in the all around, and at the Pan American Championships in 2016, where she finished second on beam and fifth on floor.
