Arkansas is welcoming three talented freshmen: Katarina Derrick of Pearland Elite; Amanda Elswick of Capital TX; and Kennedy Hambrick of Reflex.

Katarina Derrick qualified to the Junior Olympics in 2017, where she tied for twenty-ninth place on floor in the Senior D division. That same year she tied for fifth place on beam at the Texas State Championships, and for eleventh on floor at the Region 3 Championships. In 2018, she won gold in the all around, on beam and floor at the HNI A Gym Mission Control meet, and gold in the all around and on floor at the Desert Lights Fiesta Bowl.

Amanda Elswick qualified to the Junior Olympics in 2017, where she was third on vault and fourth on beam in the Senior B division. That same year, she had a phenomenal Texas State Championships, winning gold medals on vault (with a nearly perfect 9.975) and beam, silver on floor and bronze in the all around. She later competed at the Region 3 Championships, where she tied for silver on vault and for bronze on beam.
Name: Kennedy Hambrick

Kennedy Hambrick is a four-time Junior Olympic qualified (2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018). In 2014, she tied for eleventh place in the Junior B division. In 2015, she was seventh on floor in the Junior C division. In 2017, she tied for seventh on vault in the Senior C division. And in 2018, she tied for fourth place on bars, as well as for ninth on vault and floor. Leading up to the J.O.s, Kennedy had a very successful Texas State Championships, where she won gold on floor, silver on bars and in the all around, and bronze on vault. At the Region 3 Championships a few weeks later, she won gold on floor and silver on vault.
