Meet the 2019 Nebraska Freshman Class

Nebraska is welcoming a stellar freshman class: Sarah Hargrove of Cincinnati Gymnastics; Abigail Johnston of American Twisters Gymnastics; Kaylee Quinn of North Lights Gymnastics Academy; and Megan Thompson of Desert Lights Gymnastics.

 

Name: Sarah Hargrove

Club: Cincinnati Gymnastics

Best event(s): All around

Sarah Hargrove is a two-time Junior Olympic qualifier (2015 and 2016). In 2015, she was seventeenth in the all around in the Junior C division. And in 2016, she tied for eighth place on beam. In 2018, she had a stellar Region 5 Championships, where she won gold medals on beam, floor and in the all around, and silver medals on vault and bars.

Name: Abigail Johnston

Club: American Twisters Gymnastics

Best event(s): Beam and floor

Abigail Johnston is a three-time Junior Olympic qualifier (2016 to 2018). In 2016, she tied for tenth on floor in the Junior F division. In 2017, she was fifth on beam in the Senior C division. And in 2018, she won gold on beam and silver on floor and in the all around. In 2018, she won silver medals on vault, floor and in the all around, and bronze on bars at the Florida State Championships, and gold on beam and floor and silver on bars and in the all around at the Region 8 Championships.

Name: Kaylee Quinn

Club: North Stars Gymnastics Academy

Best event(s): Vault and floor

Kaylee Quinn is a five-time Junior Olympic qualifier (2014 to 2018). In 2014, she tied for ninth in the Junior A division. In 2015, she tied for fourteenth place on beam in the Junior C division. In 2016, she won gold on beam in the Junior F division. In 2017, she won the floor title in the Senior C division. And in 2018, she won silver on floor in the Senior E division. In 2018, she also won bronze on vault at the New Jersey State Championships, and gold on floor and in the all around, and silver on vault, bars and beam at the Region 7 Championships.

Name: Megan Thompson

Club: Desert Lights Gymnastics

Best event(s): Vault

Megan Thompson qualified to the Junior Olympics in 2018, where she was thirty-sixth in the all around in the Senior F division. At the Arizona State Championships earlier in the season, she tied for silver on bars and was third on beam. She later competed at the Region 1 Championships, where she tied for sixth in the all around.
