Linda Zivat of Flipstar Gymnastics Academy has committed to Michigan State University for the 2019-20 season.
She wrote on Twitter: ‘So blessed to say that I’ve verbally committed to Michigan State University on a full ride athletic scholarship. 2019 can’t come any sooner! 💚’.
Zivat competed as a Level 10 gymnast in two meets in January 2016, before moving back to Level 9 for the rest of the season. These were the Circle of Stars Gymnastics Invitational, where she won a gold medal on floor, and the IGI Chicago Style Gymnastics Meet, where she won a silver medal also on floor exercise. After a very successful Region 5 Level 9 Championships, where she won gold medals on vault and floor, Zivat began competing again as a Level 10 gymnast in December 2016 at the Horton Invitational, where she won bronze medals in the all around, on vault, bars and floor. Zivat competed all of her 2017 season as a Level 10 and had an outstanding season. She qualified to her first Illinois Level 10 State Meet, and won silver medals on vault and floor (tied). She qualified to the Region 5 Championships, where she tied for gold on vault, was fifth on floor and twenty-second in the all around.
