Molly Parris of Gymnastics World Inc. has committed to Eastern Michigan University for the 2019-20 season.
She wrote on Twitter: ‘I’m so excited to announce that I have verbally committed to Eastern Michigan University on a full scholarship! I can’t wait to be an eagle!’
Parris began competing as a Level 10 gymnast in December 2014 at the Gymstrada Invitational, where she tied for fourth place on bars and was eighth in the all around. In 2015, she competed at her first Level 10 Ohio State Meet, where she was seventh on floor and twelfth in the all around. She qualified to the Region 5 Championships, where she finished twenty-ninth in the all around. In 2016, she competed again at the State Meet, where she was fourth on beam and floor and fifth in the all around. At Regionals, she was twelfth on beam and floor and sixteenth in the all around. In 2017, Parris won her first Ohio State Meet medal, a bronze on the uneven bars. She qualified to Regionals, where she was twelfth on bars and floor (tied) and fifteenth in the all around. In 2017, Parris also won a gold medal on vault at the Buckeye Classic and a gold medal in the all around and on bars at the X-treme Challenge.
