Wesley Stephenson Commits to Stanford (2018-19)

Wesley Stephenson of Legacy Elite Gymnastics has committed to Stanford for the 2018-19 season.

Stephenson has had a very long Level 10 career. She began competing as a Level 10 gymnast in January 2012 at the Legacy Elite Classic, where she won gold medals in the all around and on bars, and silver medals on vault and beam. In 2013, she competed at her first Level 10 Illinois State Championships, where she won a silver medal on beam and a bronze medal in the all around. She later competed at the Region 5 Championships, where she was second in the all around, on vault and beam. She qualified to her first Junior Olympics in the Junior A division, and finished seventh on beam and fifteenth in the all around. In 2014 she had a mesmerising season. At the State Championships she won gold medals on bars and floor, and bronze medals in the all around and on vault. At Regionals, she won gold on beam and floor, and silver in the all around. She requalified to the Junior Olympics, where she tied for gold on beam and was eighth in the all around in the Junior B division. In 2015 she won other two medals at the State Championships, a silver on vault and a bronze in the all around, and a silver medal on vault at Regionals. After sitting out the 2016 season due to injury, Stephenson came back strong in 2017. She won bronze medals on beam and bars (tied) and was fourth in the all around at the Illinois State Championships. At the Region 5 Championships, she regained her balance beam title, and was third in the all around and on bars. She qualified to her third Junior Olympics, where she finished tenth on bars and beam (tied) and was fourteenth in the all around in the Senior D division.
