Eve Micco of Arizona Sunrays has committed to the Stanford for the 2018-19 season.
Her gym wrote on Facebook: ‘We are so very proud to announce Eve Micco #2018 committing to Stanford University on a gymnastics scholarship! We are so happy for Eve and so proud of her hard work and perseverance!’
Micco began competing as a Level 10 gymnast in 2014. That year she won a silver medal on bars and was fifth in the all around at her first Arizona Level 10 State Meet. She then competed at the Region 1 Championships, where she finished fourth on bars and ninth in the all around. She qualified to her first Junior Olympics, where she finished thirty-first in the all around in the Junior B division. In 2015 she was fifth on bars and sixth on floor at the State Championships, and tied for silver on bars and for fifth in the all around at Regionals. She requalified to the Junior Olympics in the Junior C division, and tied for thirtieth in the all around. In 2016 Micco was fourth on floor and sixth in the all around at the Arizona State Meet, and tied for sixth on bars at Regionals. 2017 was her best season to date. At the State Championships, she won gold on bars, silver in the all around, on vault and floor and bronze on beam. At Regionals, she tied for silver on bars and was seventh in the all around. She requalified to the Junior Olympics, where she was ninth in the all around in the Senior C division.
