Asia Dewalt Commits to Alabama (2018-19)

Asia Dewalt of AIM Athletics – Texans Gymnastics has committed to Alabama for the 2018-19 season.

Dewalt began competing as a Level 10 gymnast in 2013. That year, she was tenth on vault and twelfth in the all around at the Texas State Championships. In 2016, after switching gyms (she trained at WOGA before), she came back very strong at the State Championships, where she won a silver medal on vault, a bronze on bars and was fourth in the all around. At the Region 3 Championships, she tied for bronze on vault and for seventh in the all around. She qualified to her first Junior Olympic National Championships, where she tied for fifth place on bars and for seventh on vault. In 2017, she competed at only three meets. Her first meet was the Chow’s Challenge – Gym A, where she won gold medals on vault and beam, and silver on floor and in the all around. She then competed at the City of Lights Invitational, where she won gold on bars and silver on vault and beam. Her third and last meet was the Texas State Championships, where she tied for silver on bars, was fourth on vault and sixth in the all around.
