Rachel DeCavitch Commits to Kent State (2019-20)

Rachel DeCavitch of Gymnastics World Inc. has committed to Kent State for the 2019-20 season.

DeCavitch began competing as a Level 10 gymnast in the fall of 2015 at the Hoosier Cup and had a brilliant start, winning gold in the all around, silver on floor and beam (tied) and bronze on vault and bars. In 2016, at her first Level 10 Ohio State Championships, she was fifth on beam and eighth in the all around. At the Region 5 Championships she did even better, winning bronze on floor and finishing eleventh in the all around. 2017 was a stellar season for DeCavitch. At the Ohio State Championships, she won gold on floor, bronze on beam and was fourth in the all around. She also had a great Regional competition, winning silver on beam and tying for silver in the all around. Thanks to her results, she qualified to her first Junior Olympic National Championships, where she tied for silver on floor exercise and finished twenty-eighth in the all around in the Senior B division.
